Alright - your audio is fixed! It now plays perfectly on both my iPhone and MAC. I have re-subscribed. I went back through your recent posts and found the audio problem got fixed between SIT/STAND DESK (no Apple audio) and TRESTLE TABLE (perfect Apple audio) Whatever equipment or software changes you made between those episodes did the trick. It's good to watch your content again.
Appreciated.. Ultimately, this was a RUclips issue but, I did change a bunch of equipment to try and account for it. It was frustrating that it was fine for some and not for others..
Mine's been trouble free for over 10 years.
Glad you got a good one! Wish I would have!
Want to rip 11/4 x 3 1/2 maple in.Rough cut into 1/2 × 3 1/2 broads has any one use this on rough cut
Ultimately, I think it depends on just how rough it is. The wheels move to keep pressure on the material but, there's a limit to their range. Now, once you make the first cut, you should have a fairly flat surface that should be well within the range of the roller guide.
Awesome build, i will be building one for my wife as well, did you happen to remember approximately how many sheets of 3/4" ply was used for this project?
I don't honestly recall as it was a while ago. There are some free plans on the website that will help you figure out how many you'll need. kevswoodworks.com/free-plans/
Great work, Kev~! That Bubinga ply looks fantastic. Can't wait to see the next stage of the build~!
Thanks!
Excellent work sir. It’s looking really great. I hope the wife is pleased.
Thanks! So far, she's happy with it. I'm sure it will take a long time to finally work through the organization the way she wants it.
@ yes, and you both may change your mind over time as to what goes where. But it looks like you’ve placed sufficient forethought and planning into the design to allow you the ability to make changes as needed. Great work!
@ Room for growth is important. Thanks!
Where did you buy it for $70? What store?
It looks like it's gone up in price or I got it on sale, the video is 2+ years old. The current only on the Rockler site is $99.00
Thanks! I have been told that a first grandchild is now in the making and this just looks classy!
Thank you! Definitely one of my more memorable bids!
Thanks! I just purchased this fence and truly appreciate you taking the time to walk through the installation.
Happy to help! Shout if you have questions!
Where are your finishing supplies?
In the orange metal cabinet behind the drill press.
NIce layout. Where did you get the hardware/slide for your spindle sander. Wife wants a higher drawer that she can have for the mixer, blender and a few other items, and then have it mounted high, but be able to reach it.
Great shop and tour. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jeff!
That's cool. Great to see you enjoying your shop and all the tech involved. ( My videos are lucky to have a flashlight ). The shop looks great; organization lets the mind focus on imagination. Happy New Year all!
Thanks!
Great tour! I notice you have drawers under your JessEm router table dust collection box. Would you share details about them? If pre-fab, where did you get them?
I did a video on that enclosure which will probably answer most of your questions.. Shout if you have more questions.. ruclips.net/video/k8IeWwvOhng/видео.html
Thanks for the Tour. Enjoyed the video and like seeing how others are set up! Happy New Year!!
Thanks for the tour. I’m in the process of rebuilding my shop and love to see different organization styles. Love the “steps” approach. Happy New Year.
Thank you, it's worked for me for many years and improved my shop efficiency.
Excellente vidéo 😊 À bientôt

Happy New Year Kev and Fam :-)
Same to you Andy! Hope you have a great and prosperous 2025!
Nice clean and well organized shop. Very frustrating always having to move stuff around in my 3 car garage shop. And that’s because I simply have so much stuff in there. Metal and wood working machines and tools. And remember what George Carlin said years ago. The amount of stuff you have is solely based on the amount of room you have to put it all into. Sure looks nice to have all of that working space. Good job young man 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you very much!
I have that problem also. As a result I am adding another room in the middle of winter.
@@andrewpinson1268 me too.....well....I solved the problem by just moving stuff out of one of the rooms in the house and bringing in my tools instead. Who needs that many cabinets on the walls....besides all they had were dishes, mugs, pots and pans. Once I get rid of the stove, fridge, and dishwasher I'll have room for my tool boxes. Happy 10th day of Christmas all!
Yeah, what is it you do for a day job...? I heard it involves cranes and safety...lol..😂
Sometimes, that's accurate..
What liner material did you use?
Just maple.
@@KevsWoodworks Thanks.
I’m sorry to contact you again so soon, but will the lacquer affect the cover of the Bible?
@@e.dbogan6266 It's all good, I'm happy to help. Once the lacquer is cured, I don't see why it would. No different than any other film forming finish. The Bible has been in this box for about a year now and I just pulled it out to have a look. No signs of any damage to the cover.
@@KevsWoodworks Thanks, that’s good to know. I’m in the process of building a Bible box for a friend and was concerned about the inside of the box finish affecting the leather. Thanks again.
Sounds like a great year! Thanks for all you do and all the help with my projects. Your forum is also a great place for much better and more close knit and personalized advice compared to many other groups I’ve tried. Looking forward to seeing what’s in store for 2025!
Thanks Jeff, much appreciated!!
My wife asked me to build her a corners desk, and I really like that design. How did you connect the top to the risers?
It's a sit/stand riser that you can purchase on Amazon. It comes with the mounts to install the top. Just purchase one as "frame only".
Got to wonder why folks eschew the economy of making their own hot wax oil....$50 for a hot plate and then Bob's yer Uncle. 'Veteran '66-68

Bubinga looks great.
Gonna look awesome when it's all finished! Have a safe Holidays Kev and Fam :-)
Much appreciated Andy! Hope the healing is going well! Best wishes to you and your family !
up and comer = rebranded Chinese garbage
Where did the drawers come from on you router stand?
I made them. Details in the video.
Nice work. Did you not get overspray settling on things all in your shop ?
There's always going to be some which is why I cover everything up. Also, this is a water based finish so, it cleans up easily. It would be nice to have a dedicated spray booth!
Thank you very honest advises.
Superb job, great process again.
Nicely done and explained process.

@@KevsWoodworks First post, in thy again
Than you great review.
Can't wait to see your follow-up videos with this drill press. I just got a tour of this drill press at the local Woodcraft store. I tried out the DP20 table lift crank and that very smooth compared to my ancient delta press plus the table designed for wood working is great.
Kevin, when you were showing us your drill press, I noticed you had the speed set on 60rpm, ramped up the speed, and returned it to 60rpm. My question is do you typically drill at 60rpm? I usually drill at 400rpm, 250rpm for larger bits.
No, I'm normally more in your range but that's a little slow for some of the different woods I use. There's a speed chart on the side of the machine to get the speeds based on bit style and size as well as the material being drilled.
How does this compare to the Nova drill presses? The screen and everything remind me of a Nova.
There are a lot of similarities but, I think the Laguna has upgraded some key points. The Laguna doesn't have all those menu options to get through to drill a hole. If fairness, I haven't spent much time with the Nova so, there may be some shortcuts to reduce the screen time on it. The Laguna has the single pull handle which I think is a major upgrade. Although both have a digital depth stop, they both also have a mechanical depth stop. The Laguna's is much quicker and easier to set than the Nova.. That's just a few of the things that pop to mind first thing in the morning as I'm having my coffee..
@ Thank you for the information. I will be getting an old drill press from my previous boss. I think it is either a Craftsman or Delta floor standing model. I’ve never had a drill press before. I don’t have much use for it but I’ll find something.
I've got the Nova Voyager Drill Press and on the surface the electronic features are very similar. The NOVA has a 1.75 HP motor compared to the 1.5 HP for the Laguna. The Laguna table is about 6" wider. The quill travel on the NOVA takes two revolutions to go the same distance as the Laguna does in one. NOVA is $100 more expensive. I would not worry about jumping around screens on the NOVA. It isn't required, it's available when you want to take advantage of some of the more advanced features, or want to look up reference speeds for different bits.
Wow, that's a beast of a drill press~!! I had my 15" Craftsman DP since the early '90's and for the drilling I do, it'll do...which will let me splurge on purchasing and/or upgrading other tools in the shop. Welcome back and I guess we'll see ya in the new year~!
Yea, my last drill press was from the 80s and this is the last major upgrade in my shop. Looking forward to seeing how it holds up.
Kevin, George Holt here, a fellow Void player from 2005. Say I’m glad your back in your shop. I have been wondering where you are now living, is your shop in Montana? As I remember you said you left Washington, but I’m not remembering where you moved to. Perhaps I can take a trip up to see the town you are situated in now, I’m looking to purchase a cattle and horse ranch in the coming year. Give my best to your wife and children I’m getting into Car dealings in the coming year in Nevada as I’ve moved out of California. My best to you, please let Jon know I’m still kicking.
Good to hear from you George, it's been a long time! Reach out to me at Kev@kevswoodworks.com..
Kevin thanks so much for a great design/build. I'm building a bedroom set based on the same design. Would you happen to have plans for the bed? If not some dimensions for the rails, styles and the router bit you used for the panels? Thanks again
Thank you! I didn't so plans for this one but, am happy to give you any details you need. I'm currently out of state for work but, should be home in about a week. Drop me an email and remind me and I'll grab all the measurements for you. Kev@kevswoodworks.com

Four drills to attach the top. Wild! Picked up a few things from this thanks
Thanks.. 4 drills is a little overkill but, I'm not changing bits and attachments often.

Another commenter said it “I can’t believe that a saw that used to be so good is now so bad!” Indeed…I do not believe it. Mine runs just fine. Maybe they switched manufacturing facilities.
They have switched where the saws are made which has probably caused some quality issues. Regardless, it still took PM a full yea to make it right.
Can I ask why you didn't put the board against the fence while jointing the face? Thanks!
Because I'm only trying to get the face flat. Once that face is flat, then I use the fence to square up the edge.
Beautiful shop. Really like the space you have. Well organized and clean. Always nice to work in such a shop.
Thank you!
Great video - a very practical corner desk shape. Compact and neat.
Thank you!
That seems like a great machine. Your video is a few years old now. Are you still using it and happy with the results? Thanks for sharing
Yes! I recently used it on the child's rocker project and video and it performed very well!
@@KevsWoodworks Nice. Me was also told, that those smaller machines aren't strong enough for harder woodtypes like oak and beech...
@@twandieltjes1359 They're definitely underpowered for the harder woods but, they will cut it. Just much slower.
Nice build. I am using a DeWalt tablesaw and sometimes my piece is to wide for it (Front table till the saw blade too short). Would such a sled be safe enough to use when it's bigger and hangs in front of the saw? Thanks for sharing!
To a certain extent, yes. Especially if you also built an extension for the front to help support the panel. I know I have a video in my archives where I built one and they really come in handy. I'll find the video and add a link here for you.
